A Coastal Village on the Continent

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryNetflix Tudum, the official Netflix news source, announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, debuting February 11, 2025. This animated film adapts Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.

The story unfolds in a coastal village where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk forces a Continent kingdom to enlist a Witcher. Instead of the usual monsters, Geralt faces a unique challenge: battling merpeople.

Dogue Cockle returns as the voice of Geralt. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski acts as creative consultant. Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, writers for the live-action series, penned the screenplay. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs the film.

A Story Set Within Witcher Season 1

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryThe film's timeline fits between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's reunion in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt accepts a new contract to deal with a coastal monster problem.

The film's location is likely near the Redanian and Temerian borders. Based on "A Little Sacrifice," the setting could be Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval. However, the extent to which the film adheres to the short story remains to be seen.
