While weapon upgrades enhance their longevity, numerous powerful weapons, such as the Type-40 sword, are obtainable and upgradable for increased character strength. However, the Type-40 sword is easily missed; here's how to acquire it.

Obtaining the Type-40 Sword

The Type-40 Sword is the reward for completing the side quest "Find A Present," the culmination of a questline involving Operator 6O. Unlocking this quest requires completing two preceding side quests. Here's a step-by-step guide, including chapter selections if using Chapter Select:

1. Post-Chapter 5: After defeating Adam and Eve in Chapter 5, you'll receive a call from Operator 6O. This initiates the "Investigating Communications" quest – complete it immediately as it's easily missed.

2. Chapter 6 & 7 Progression: Advance through the main story, completing Chapter 6 (Forest Castle events) and initiating Chapter 7.

3. "Terminal Repairs": After conversing with Pascal about A2 and exploring the city ruins, Operator 6O will contact you again, instructing you to check your inbox at an access point to begin the "Terminal Repairs" quest.

4. Final Call & "Find a Present": While returning to the Resistance Camp during Chapter 7, a final call from Operator 6O will mention flowers and direct you to another inbox message. Interact with this message to start "Find a Present."

5. Reward: Completing "Find a Present" delivers the Type-40 Sword to your inbox.

At level 1, the Type-40 Sword features a 5-hit light attack combo and a 3-hit heavy attack combo. Upgrading it to level 4 increases the light attack combo to 7 hits and boosts its effectiveness against stunned enemies. Titanium Alloy is required for these upgrades.
