Author:Kristen Update:Feb 19,2025

Team Ninja's substantial update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (version 1.0.7.0) introduces highly anticipated features and significant improvements. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store), this patch fulfills a January promise to address community feedback.

Key additions include New Game Plus, allowing players to restart with previously acquired weapons and Ninpo (reset to level 1), and a Photo Mode for capturing in-game moments. A quality-of-life enhancement lets players toggle the visibility of their projectile weapon via the Options > Game Settings menu.

Balance adjustments involve HP reductions for enemies in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy counts in Chapters 13 and 14, and a damage boost for some of Ayane's attacks. Numerous bug fixes are also included, addressing high-performance PC issues, game-breaking glitches in specific chapters, and overall stability.

The surprise January release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a Unreal Engine 5 enhanced version, impressed with its visual upgrades, new playable characters, and refined combat. While IGN's 8/10 review noted a slightly altered enemy design, it praised the game as a significant improvement over Sigma 2, remaining an excellent action title.
