Nintendo Switch 2: 120fps, 4K Docked

After years of speculation, Nintendo has finally unveiled the much-anticipated specs of the Nintendo Switch 2, and they exceed many expectations. The new console supports up to 120fps and can handle 4K resolution when docked, showcasing a significant leap in performance.

PlayDuring today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo provided an in-depth look at the system's features. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. It features an LCD screen with HDR support and offers a 1080p resolution in handheld mode at up to 120fps. When docked, the console can output up to 4K resolution with HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers have been upgraded with magnetic connections and a release button on the back for easy detachment. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing gameplay in horizontal mode, and the analog sticks are also bigger for improved control. Additionally, this segment confirmed the inclusion of mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It features a more robust and adjustable stand than the original Switch, and a top USB port for external camera connectivity or charging in tabletop mode.

Lastly, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage.
