Palworld: Unlocking the Secrets of Dark Fragments

Pocketpair's Palworld, with its expansive open world and ever-growing roster of Pals, continues to captivate players. The Feybreak DLC added a wealth of new crafting materials, including the enigmatic Dark Fragments. This guide will detail how to obtain and utilize this crucial resource.

Obtaining Dark Fragments

Dark Fragments are exclusively found on Feybreak Island. To acquire them, you must hunt or capture Dark-elemental Pals. Note that Dark Pals in other game regions won't yield Dark Fragments. You'll find better success venturing inland, as coastal Pals are often ground or water types. Some Dark Pals, like Starryon, are only active at night (unless they're boss variants).

Each captured or defeated Dark Pal yields 1-3 Dark Fragments, though this isn't guaranteed. Efficient hunting is key to accumulating a sufficient supply.

Here's a list of Dark-elemental Pals and their approximate Dark Fragment drop rates:

Pal Name Drop Rate
Starryon 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina 2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct 1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Starryon (Midnight Blue Mane) 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Starryon 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul (Hundred-Faced Apostle) 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina (Crismon Butcher) 2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct (Born of the Thunderclouds) 1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct (Guardian of the Dark Flame) 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Omascul 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Splatterina 2-3 x Dark Fragments

While rare, you might occasionally find single Dark Fragments scattered across Feybreak. Thorough exploration is recommended, though remember that constant combat will deplete your ammo.

Utilizing Dark Fragments

Dark Fragments are a relatively specialized crafting material. They are primarily used to create high-tier items, including:
