Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Retro Nintendo Console Theme

Pikmin Bloom is gearing up for its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is bringing back some nostalgic gadgets to the game. The celebration kicks off with a new event starting May 1st, 2025.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with a variety of fun decor, such as Pikmin wearing Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is bringing back classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s, offering a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

In addition, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin is being introduced. This is a tribute to Nintendo’s roots when the company was crafting playing cards before venturing into video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks.

The event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, giving you an entire month to engage in missions and collect these exciting new Pikmin. Each time you complete an Event Challenge mission, you'll receive random rewards such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also appear. Destroying these mushrooms will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other items. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are particularly effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

The May flowers in Pikmin Bloom can bloom into a variety of beautiful blooms, including carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or special anniversary roses. This can be achieved by planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

There’s also an update to the nectar system. During May, fruit from mushrooms will provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.

The 3.5th anniversary celebration includes other exciting events, such as Community Day. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and get ready for this memorable anniversary.
