Among the most eagerly awaited releases I covered last year, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage stands out prominently. The original Pirates Outlaws carved a niche for itself as a stylish, swashbuckling roguelike deckbuilder, capturing the hearts of gamers when the genre was still burgeoning. Now, its sequel is set to sail into the gaming world in Q3 of this year!

This exciting seaquel takes players back to the adventurous seas of New Elysia, where they embark on another thrilling journey across the ocean waves. Start your voyage by selecting a character, a class ability, and a starting deck, and prepare for an exhilarating adventure!

In Pirates Outlaws 2, you have the freedom to choose from a variety of characters, each offering seven distinct class options. Customize your deck to fit your strategy, and even recruit an animal companion to enhance your battle tactics. With enhanced turn-based combat and a new card evolution tree, you'll have a plethora of weapons and strategies at your disposal to conquer the high seas!

Run out the guns - Pirates Outlaws 2 promises to be a significantly expanded sequel, allowing you to explore the map freely and offering an abundance of permutations and combinations of cards and characters. For those on PC, an upcoming Steam demo will provide the first opportunity to dive into the game and get a taste of what's to come.

One aspect that raised a slight concern for me is the animations shown in the reveal trailer, which seemed a bit static. While fully animating these illustrations is challenging, I'm hopeful that the final release will feature more dynamic effects, enhancing the experience when it launches on mobile later this year.
