Players are horrified by the demo of \"Game of Thrones: Kingsroad\"

Even before its official announcement, many commented that Game of Thrones: Kingsroad looked dated—reminiscent of a PlayStation 3-era licensed title or a typical mobile game. Despite this initial skepticism, some remained optimistic, hoping for a surprising success, especially given the relative scarcity of compelling Game of Thrones games.

Now, thanks to the Steam Next Fest demo, the debate is settled: Kingsroad is undeniably underwhelming.

Players have criticized nearly every aspect, from its outdated combat mechanics and graphics to numerous questionable design choices that scream "mobile game." Many are calling it a simple port, but even if not, the game's visual style and overall presentation strongly evoke a 2010 release.

Interestingly, the Steam page's comments also include positive reviews, many echoing a similar sentiment: "I really enjoyed the demo, looking forward to the full release." Whether these are automated reviews or reflect genuine optimism remains unclear.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is slated for release on PC (Steam) and mobile devices, though a firm release date is yet to be announced.
