The Realmgate is a pivotal endgame feature in Path of Exile 2. Unlike standard map nodes, accessing it doesn't involve Waystones; a different method is required.

This guide explains the Realmgate's location, its proper usage, and what to anticipate upon arrival. Preparation is key to maximizing its potential.

How to Locate the Realmgate in PoE 2

The Realmgate is situated adjacent to your mapping phase's starting point. The fastest way to return is by selecting the floating home icon on the mapping screen (illustrated above). This recenters the screen on the mapping phase's origin. The Realmgate is located next to the stone Ziggurat.

The home icon might sometimes overlap with the red skull icon, marking the Burning Monolith. These locations are generally close. Clicking on one will reveal the other.

Utilizing the Realmgate in PoE 2

Unlike regular map nodes, Waystones are ineffective with the Realmgate. Its purpose is to access endgame Pinnacle boss encounters. Currently, four Pinnacle bosses utilize the Realmgate. Here's how to engage them:

  • Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Combine 300 Breach Splinters to forge a Breachstone. Activate the Breachstone at the Realmgate to confront Xesht.
  • Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Use a Level 79 or higher Logbook (obtained from Expeditions) by interacting with Dannig in your Hideout. Dannig appears randomly during Expedition maps, alongside other Expedition NPCs (Rog, Gwennen, and Tujen), after which he becomes a permanent resident of your Hideout.
  • The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Combine 300 Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum, usable at the Realmgate. Instead of a single boss, this generates a map with 15 waves of Delirium enemies. Optimized mapping strategies are recommended.
  • King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire "An Audience With the King" item from the Ritual Favour system using Tribute. Use it at the Realmgate to initiate this encounter.

The Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal, endgame bosses concluding the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas respectively (4th Ascendancy version), are not accessed via the Realmgate.

The Arbiter or Ash, the ultimate endgame Pinnacle boss, is found only within the Burning Monolith, not the Realmgate. Three Citadel keys, obtained through a quest triggered upon your first Burning Monolith encounter, are needed to access this fight.
