The newest expansion, Mega Rising, is now live.

Various events will reward you with free items.

As we noted yesterday, Pokémon TCG Pocket has officially turned one, and festivities are already in full swing. Alongside a generous mix of free rewards, a brand-new expansion has launched, introducing Mega Pokémon to the digital collectible card game for the very first time.

The arrival of Mega Pokémon coincides with the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which features a wide array of new Mega forms (some of which offer a cautionary tale about the perils of chasing perfection—hint: leave Chandelure alone). These powerful new cards are expected to significantly impact the competitive meta. With higher HP, stronger attacks, and the ability to win instantly by defeating one (earning three points), they’re set to reshape the game.

Three distinct pack variants are available for Mega Rising, meaning you’ll need to open plenty of each to complete the full collection. I’ll hold off on opening any until I see how the ranked scene evolves. While I’m excited to see how Mega Altaria performs, I’ve never been great at predicting meta shifts.

Thanks to the First Anniversary Celebration Campaign, you can claim one of each pack type for free. But the rewards don’t stop there. There are also multiple missions to complete by December 17th, offering a special emblem, backdrop, cover, card sleeve, coin, and playmat as rewards.

And that’s still not everything. The Promo Reissue Event 2025 is now live, running until November 11th. This event lets you obtain cards originally released in Promo Packs Vol. 1–6 and 8–13. By completing missions, you’ll earn event shop tickets to trade for these sought-after cards. Plus, you can battle through challenges and claim Wonder Picks to help complete any missing pieces in your promo collection.
