Pokémon TCG: Pocket Sleep Status Explained

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 21,2025

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, Sleep is a debilitating status condition. This guide details what Sleep does, how to cure it, and which cards inflict it.

Understanding Sleep in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Sleep renders a Pokémon unable to attack, use abilities, or retreat. A sleeping Pokémon is effectively useless while in the active spot.

Curing Sleep

There are three primary methods to cure Sleep:

  1. Coin Toss: Each turn, a coin toss determines if a sleeping Pokémon wakes up. This is a random chance, potentially prolonging the Sleep effect.
  2. Evolution: Evolving a sleeping Pokémon instantly cures it.
  3. Koga Trainer Card: This card specifically returns a sleeping Weezing or Muk to your hand.

Sleep-Inducing Cards

Eight cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket can inflict Sleep. Note that the method and probability of inflicting Sleep vary:

While other Sleep-inducing cards can be incorporated into various decks, Hypno's efficiency and strategic versatility currently make it the most competitive option in the Pokémon TCG Pocket meta.
