Nintendo offers no discounts, as this is an older title. The original Switch game costs full price, with an additional $10 for the Switch 2 enhancements. It’s a bit steep.

Upgrade Pack Available Separately

This edition includes the original Switch game and the Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. If you own the original game, you can buy the upgrade pack separately for $10 to save some cash.

Free Upgrade with Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack

Own Breath of the Wild and have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription? The upgrade is included at no extra cost—a nice perk, given Nintendo’s pricey approach to this console launch.

From our original review: “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a landmark in open-world design, redefining a 30-year-old franchise. It offers a captivating sandbox brimming with mystery, tempting players with countless adventures. Every journey feels unique, weaving stories within stories. Even after 50 hours exploring Hyrule, new discoveries await. I could easily spend another 50 to 100 hours chasing its unforgettable moments.”
