PUBG Mobile officially kicks off the Global Open with almost 100,000 participants

The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has officially kicked off, marking the first major international PUBG Mobile esports event of the year! Over 90,000 competitors have registered, vying for a share of the massive $500,000 prize pool. Open Qualifiers, which began February 13th, provide a crucial pathway for aspiring talent to break into the professional scene.

This year's tournament emphasizes opportunities for amateur teams, ensuring fresh faces and exciting new strategies. Teams featuring at least one Ultimate 500-ranked player from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have already advanced to Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Upcoming weeks will see intense competition as teams fight for a spot in the PMGO Prelims, where they'll face the top performers from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.

Twelve teams will emerge from the Prelims to challenge established PUBG Mobile professionals in the PMGO Main Event, scheduled for April 12th-13th. Four professional teams—Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage—have already secured their Main Event spots based on their impressive PMGC 2024 performances. Four additional teams will qualify through regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.

The Open Qualifiers run until March 2nd, followed by the Prelims on April 10th-11th. This tournament is just the beginning of a thrilling year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and PMGC returning later in 2025.
