References to the show appear through John Economos, Amanda Waller's associate, and Peacemaker himself makes an appearance. The Suicide Squad's canonicity is also established in the first episode.

Cerci hails from Themyscira (Wonder Woman's home), Dr. Phosphorus operated in Gotham, Galaxy Broadcasting System (GBS), a Metropolis-based news organization, is mentioned, and Dr. Phosphorus's wife's connection to Bialia (home of the Scarab that empowered Blue Beetle) is revealed. Sgt. Rock and Easy Company

Episode 3 reveals G.I. Robot's WWII service alongside Sgt. Rock and Easy Company. Sgt. Rock, a popular non-superhero soldier from the 1959 comic Our Army at War, makes a consistent cameo across various DC media. Daniel Craig is rumored to portray him in a future film, with Maury Sterling voicing him in the series.

Episode 5 reveals Dr. Ailsa McPherson's replacement by Clayface, voiced by Alan Tudyk (who also voiced Dr. Phosphorus and Will Magnus in the series, and Clayface in Harley Quinn). A Clayface film, scripted by Mike Flanagan, is in development.
