Rumor: Genshin Impact Leaks Popular Character\

Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak suggests that Wriothesley, the Cryo Catalyst character, may finally receive his first rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4. This would mark over a year since his initial release in Version 4.1. The long wait highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its extensive roster of over 90 playable characters with the limited slots available for character reruns on Event Banners.

The game's current system, even with the addition of the Chronicled Banner (intended to alleviate the rerun backlog), struggles to provide fair and timely reruns for all characters. Shenhe's lengthy wait time (over 600 days) before her rerun in Version 5.3 serves as a prime example. Until the introduction of triple banners, extended waits between character reruns seem inevitable.

Wriothesley's potential rerun in Version 5.4 is particularly noteworthy given his unique Cryo hypercarry capabilities and the recent Spiral Abyss buff that benefits his playstyle. However, the source of this leak, Flying Flame, has a mixed track record, so this information should be treated cautiously. While some previous predictions proved accurate (like the announcement of a new Chronicled Banner), others have been inaccurate.

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to feature the debut of Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are included in the Version 5.4 Event Banners, the remaining spot(s) might feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a rerun within the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
