Silver Surfer Illuminates Fantastic Four Trailer Amid Galactus Threat

Author:Kristen Update:May 12,2025

The latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps offers a captivating glimpse into a new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) world, showcasing how Julia Garner's Silver Surfer fits into this vibrant universe. The trailer, spanning two and a half minutes, delves into the utopian world built by the iconic team of Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn). In this setting, Marvel's First Family is not only celebrated as a (growing) group of heroes who save the day but also as role models for people of all ages. The plot thickens when Garner's Silver Surfer descends from the sky, bringing a dire warning of an impending threat: the cosmic entity, Galactus.

PlayToday's trailer stands out with its heightened action sequences compared to previous footage. We witness Ben Grimm smashing through pillars and get a fresh perspective on Reed Richards' stretchy abilities. These are innovative interpretations of the classic powers that the Fantastic Four have wielded for decades, and fans will get a comprehensive view of their teamwork when the film hits theaters this July.

Julia Garner's portrayal of the Silver Surfer steals the spotlight in this trailer. Despite her limited dialogue, warning that this alternate Earth is now "marked for death," her character exudes immense power as she effortlessly counters the Human Torch and navigates through explosions. While the trailer keeps Galactus' full, updated MCU appearance under wraps, it does tease his arrival with a shot of him stomping through the city.
