Smite 2 Is Now Free-to-Play

Smite 2's open beta is now live and free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. This launch coincides with a significant content update from Titan Forge Games.

A year after its unveiling, Smite 2, built with Unreal Engine 5, offers a refined experience over its predecessor. Visuals and combat are enhanced, and the item shop is revamped for greater flexibility. The core gameplay remains: players control gods from various mythologies in 5v5 battles. Following a closed alpha, the open beta opens the game to all.

This open beta introduces substantial new content:

  • New Gods: Aladdin (designed specifically for Smite 2), Geb, Mulan, Agni, and Ullr join the roster. Aladdin's unique abilities include wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic.
  • Game Modes: The popular 3v3 Joust mode returns, alongside Conquest and an alpha version of Assault.
  • New Map: An Arthurian-themed map makes its debut.
  • God Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods.
  • Conquest Map Updates: Significant improvements to the Conquest map experience.

The developer considers Smite 2 a superior game to its predecessor, citing numerous improvements. They've expressed gratitude for the community feedback during the closed alpha and promised ambitious new content for 2025.

While available on most major platforms, Smite 2 is currently absent from the Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns. However, the possibility of a future release on the Switch 2 remains open. Smite fans can download and play the open beta now.
