Sonic Rumble Pre-Release Event: Monkey Ball, Altered Beast Crossover

While the global release of Sonic Rumble is set for May 8th, fans won't have to wait to dive into the action. The game is kicking things off with an exciting pre-release crossover event, featuring iconic characters from Sega's rich gaming history. This event is a treat for those in regions where Sonic Rumble is currently in soft launch, running from now until May 7th.

Starting off, players can claim the Werewolf character from the classic game Altered Beast for free. This nostalgic addition is just the beginning. Subscribers to the Sega Star Event Pass will have the exclusive opportunity to unlock the Weredragon from Altered Beast, along with Opa-Opa, the beloved first mascot from the arcade hit Fantasy Zone.

For those looking to expand their roster further, the in-game Ring Shop offers additional characters such as Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop introduces characters from Super Monkey Ball, including AiAi and MeeMee, available for purchase.

Hosting a crossover event before the official global release is certainly unconventional, but it's a thrilling opportunity for early players. And according to Sega, this is just the beginning of a packed calendar of crossovers and collaborations planned for Sonic Rumble.
