South Park Season 27 Release Date Revealed in New Trailer

Author:Kristen Update:May 02,2025

The boys are back in town — and by the boys, we're talking about Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman. South Park has officially announced the return of Season 27, and it appears our favorite Colorado crew is tackling the current state of affairs in their signature, barely-keeping-it-together style.

The beloved animated series dropped a new trailer that initially tricked fans into thinking they were getting a sneak peek at a new drama. With intense editing and dramatic music, the trailer set an ominous tone... until Randy, Stan's dad, and his sister Shelley appeared on-screen. Randy, sitting on Shelley's bed with a Wicked movie poster in the background, casually asks her if she's been taking drugs. "Because I think it could really help you," he suggests, perfectly encapsulating the show's unique blend of humor and social commentary.

South Park Season 27 is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 9th. After the initial gag, the trailer shifts back to showcasing intense action, hinting at several major (and topical) plot points for the season. Expect to see everything from multiple plane crashes and the toppling of the Statue of Liberty to a P. Diddy cameo and, of course, another war with Canada. Longtime fans or those familiar with the 1999 film South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut won't be surprised by the latter.

The teaser also confirms that the new season will debut on July 9, 2025, on Comedy Central, marking over two years since the conclusion of Season 26. In the interim, the series has released three specials: 2023's South Park: Joining the Panderverse and South Park (Not Suitable For Children), followed by 2024's South Park: The End of Obesity.

South Park celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, having first aired on Comedy Central in 1997 to immediate critical acclaim.
