Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary

The sudden announcement of the shutdown of *Star Wars: Hunters* before it could celebrate even a year of operation has left many fans disheartened. Despite the impending closure, the game will still mark its one-year anniversary before shutting down. But the question remains: Is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game that's on its last legs?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for *Star Wars: Hunters* are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, concluding the game's run just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, as this is when it officially ends.

Zynga, both the developer and publisher, is releasing a final content update on April 15th. This update includes a new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and the season's events will be rerun. If you have any unspent Crystals, it's advisable to use them as no refunds will be issued.

It Isn’t Shocking

The shutdown of *Star Wars: Hunters* might not come as a surprise to many. From its initial announcement in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and restricted beta tests to only SEA and ANZAC regions.

A combination of a delayed launch, the absence of major console support, and a lukewarm reception contributed to its downfall. Even the game's design choices, opting for generic original characters over the iconic figures from the Star Wars universe, seemed to miss the mark.
