Author:Kristen Update:May 23,2025

Exciting news for fans of the action-packed game Stellar Blade: Developer Shift Up has officially announced that a fully-fledged sequel is in the works. The original PlayStation-published title, which launched in April 2024, received widespread acclaim for its engaging gameplay, drawing comparisons to the likes of NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In a recent financial results presentation, Shift Up unveiled a chart outlining their future projects, confirming that the Stellar Blade sequel is slated for release before 2027.

Before the much-anticipated sequel hits the shelves, fans can look forward to a "platform expansion" for Stellar Blade. This expansion is expected to be the game's upcoming PC version, set to launch on June 11, 2025. This period will also see the release of Shift Up's new multiplatform action RPG, Project Witches, which remains shrouded in mystery but promises to be another thrilling addition to their lineup.

Earlier this week, Shift Up addressed a peculiar issue regarding a PC region lock that affected the game's availability on Steam in over 100 countries. The company stated they are in close discussions with Sony to resolve this matter promptly.

In our review of Stellar Blade, IGN praised the game for its stunning visuals and robust action mechanics, particularly highlighting its combat system inspired by Sekiro. While the game's story and characters were noted to lack depth, and some RPG elements such as sidequests felt repetitive, the core gameplay shone through, offering players a challenging and rewarding experience filled with exploration and battles against formidable foes.
