In an interview with Famitsu on March 4, 2025, Star Leap Producer Shinya Fujimatsu elaborated on Konami's decision to go mobile. "Our goal is to make Suikoden accessible to as many people as possible. Mobile is the most convenient platform for this, and we're committed to ensuring that Star Leap retains the true spirit of Suikoden," Fujimatsu stated. The team is dedicated to crafting a game that not only matches the quality of console games in terms of visuals, sounds, and storytelling but also embraces the ease of mobile play.

Expressing Suikoden in STAR LEAP

Fujimatsu highlighted the core elements that make Suikoden unique, emphasizing the series' focus on themes of war and friendship. "In Suikoden STAR LEAP, we aim to showcase the saga of the new 108 stars," he explained.
