"Switch 1 Players Upgrade to Switch 2 for Enhanced Hogwarts Legacy Graphics and Seamless Gameplay"

Author:Kristen Update:May 25,2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy promises an enhanced gaming experience with sharper visuals, faster loading times, and the introduction of innovative mouse controls. As shown in a captivating comparison teaser trailer, while the original game required players to endure loading screens when transitioning in and out of Hogsmeade, the Switch 2 version offers seamless area-to-area transitions, enhancing the immersion of the wizarding world.

But that's not all. Playing on the Nintendo Switch 2 also elevates the frame rate, improves textures, enhances shadows, and boosts the color saturation of Hogwarts and its surroundings. You can witness these improvements yourself in the trailer below:

The addition of mouse controls has piqued our curiosity. While developer Warner Bros. hasn't elaborated on this feature yet, we speculate that the new mouse functionality might enhance spell-casting mechanics, offering players even more precise control over their magical abilities.

Similar to other Switch 1 titles, players who own Hogwarts Legacy on the original system can upgrade to the enhanced version on the Switch 2 for just $10, making it an accessible upgrade for fans eager to experience the improved graphics and performance.

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, action-packed, open-world role-playing game set in the 1800s wizarding world. As a fifth-year student, players embark on a journey through both new and familiar locations, explore magical beasts, craft potions, master spell-casting, upgrade talents, and customize their character to become the witch or wizard of their dreams. The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day as the console's release, June 5.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Hogwarts Legacy, awarding it a stellar 9/10 in the IGN Hogwart's Legacy review. We noted that "in almost every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG [we've] always wanted to play," reflecting the game's success in capturing the essence of the beloved wizarding universe.
