Nintendo Direct Announces Switch 2 Release Date

The Nintendo Switch 2 finally has a confirmed release date: June 5, 2025.

Nintendo also revealed the Switch 2's starting price of $449.99.

The standard Nintendo Switch 2 package includes:

• Nintendo Switch 2 console
• Pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers (L+R)
• Joy-Con 2 Grip and Straps
• Nintendo Switch 2 Dock
• Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable
• AC Adapter and USB-C Charging Cable

The premium bundle option includes the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World for $499.99, featuring a game download code available from launch day.

Mario Kart World retails separately for $79.99, marking a $10 increase over Nintendo's previous highest-priced Switch title.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa stated: "The Switch 2 represents the evolution of hybrid gaming, building on eight years of innovation since the original Switch. Its advanced features open new possibilities, making this a significant step forward in our mission to bring joy through gaming."
