Switch 2 Physical Game Case Size Possibly Revealed

Speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2 has shifted from the console itself to the size of its game cases, following a potential leak from a French retailer.

Nintendo Life reported that journalist Felipe Lima discovered a Take-Two Interactive game listing on Fnac, a French retailer, which included the game's dimensions. If accurate, these dimensions suggest Nintendo Switch 2 game boxes will be slightly larger than those of the original Switch.

A Reddit user, HertzBurst, created a visual comparison showcasing the supposed size difference between the two. The leaked dimensions are approximately 5.1 inches (13 cm) by 7.7 inches (19.5 cm).

While larger than the current Switch cases, the purported dimensions are still considerably smaller than those used for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 games. Although unconfirmed, it's plausible that retailers would receive these dimensions early to prepare for stocking and display.

A release window for the Nintendo Switch 2 remains unannounced by Nintendo, but speculation points to a launch between June and September. This is based on hands-on events scheduled until June and a statement from Nacon, the publisher of Greedfall 2, indicating a pre-September release.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was initially unveiled in January with a short trailer highlighting backward compatibility and the inclusion of a second USB-C port. Many details, including the functionality of a new Joy-Con button, remain undisclosed, although theories abound.
