Take-Two has revealed the sales of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), a game released over a decade ago in September 2013, continues to defy expectations. Despite its age, it sold an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone, solidifying its position as one of the best-selling games of all time.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), released in October 2018, also shows remarkable staying power. Sales figures climbed by 3 million copies in the last quarter, bringing the total to 70 million copies sold.

A significant contributor to GTA V's enduring success is GTA Online, its ever-evolving multiplayer mode. Take-Two Interactive's commitment to consistent updates, such as the December 2024 Agents of Sabotage update, keeps players engaged and returning for more.

Looking ahead, Take-Two has confirmed a Fall 2025 release for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. Further bolstering their upcoming lineup, Mafia: The Old Country is slated for a Summer 2025 release, and Borderlands 4 is expected later in the year.

While concerns about potential delays for Grand Theft Auto VI are understandable, Take-Two's recent financial presentations reaffirm its planned Autumn 2025 release. Similarly, Borderlands 4 is confirmed for release this year, though specific dates remain unannounced.

Despite the fall release announcement for GTA VI, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Rockstar Games' meticulous development approach, stating, "Rockstar is taking a careful approach to the development process, which may require additional time, as was the case with the company's previous projects—such as GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2."
