TownsFolk Unveils Major Update with New Mechanics, Structures, and Compendium

Short Circuit Studio has unveiled an exciting new update for their recently launched settlement builder game, TownsFolk. Titled "Shadows and Fortune," this update aligns perfectly with the game's darker, pixel-art aesthetic and introduces a host of new mechanics to deepen the gameplay experience.

Despite its recent launch, TownsFolk is not shying away from enriching its content. The "Shadows and Fortune" update introduces eight new buildings, including the Altar, Town Square, Blacksmith, Aqueduct, Bank, Granary, Factory, and Terraformer. These additions promise to diversify your strategies and enhance the overall gameplay. Additionally, the update brings roaming Barbarians into the mix, adding a layer of tension to both campaign missions and Skirmish mode.

Water tiles are receiving a unique update with the introduction of the rare Whale, adding an element of surprise and exploration. The update also includes new Special Locations such as ancient Obelisks and Shipwrecks, increasing the unpredictability of your adventures.

To help players navigate through the new content, a Compendium has been added, serving as an in-game encyclopedia to keep track of all the updates and features. The Exploration System has been revamped, and players can now adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes to tailor their gaming experience.
