Transformers: Reactivate Gameplay Footage Leaks After Game’s Cancellation

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 18,2025

Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Originally announced in 2022 by Splash Damage in partnership with Hasbro, the co-op game would have pitted Autobots and Decepticons against an alien threat, "the Legion." Development was plagued by a lack of public information beyond leaks and merchandise. Following the recent cancellation, footage from a 2020 build has surfaced, showcasing Bumblebee's transformation abilities and combat in a ruined city. The gameplay bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but with a different enemy faction. Despite some unfinished elements, the leaked footage reveals a polished game with environmental destruction. A brief, silent cutscene shows Bumblebee emerging from a portal near the destroyed remains of New York City. While the game itself is no longer in development, the leaks offer a look at what could have been.

The footage, along with other leaks dating back to 2020, provides a glimpse into Splash Damage's vision for a promising, yet ultimately unsuccessful, Transformers multiplayer experience. The cancellation of the project resulted in staff redundancies and a shift in the developer's focus to other ventures.
