Akatsuki Games has shocked the gaming community by announcing the end of service (EOS) for their latest title, *Tribe Nine*. Launched in February across Android, iOS, and PC via Steam, the game's journey has been unexpectedly short-lived. Let's delve into the details surrounding this sudden closure.
*Tribe Nine* is set to officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this announcement, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not see the light of day. This news comes as a disappointment, especially since the game had recently started teasing significant plot developments. As of May 15th, all planned updates, including new features, bug fixes, and content releases, have been canceled. This means any previously mentioned in-game adjustments or new features are now off the table.
Additionally, two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, will not be joining the game's roster. Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items such as Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio, with refunds processed after the Revenio contract expires. Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes are no longer available through the app or web store, though players can still use existing Enigma Entities until the game's official shutdown.
*Tribe Nine* is a free-to-play extreme action RPG, celebrated for its unique style and worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges from the outset. A sluggish release schedule, with only one story chapter and one event over three months, failed to keep players engaged. Moreover, the game's monetization model did not encourage spending, as players could build a strong team with just one pull and did not require duplicates, which, while beneficial for players, was detrimental to the developers' revenue.
It appears that adopting a gacha model was a risky move for *Tribe Nine*, and unfortunately, it did not yield the desired results. However, the game remains playable until its closure on November 27th. If you haven't tried it yet, you can still experience *Tribe Nine* on the Google Play Store.
