Unlocking characters in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* involves a unique system that requires items known as Prototype Analyzers. These are essential for unlocking new characters, except for the DLC characters, which you can access by purchasing them. Our comprehensive *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* character unlock guide outlines how to acquire Prototype Analyzers and details every playable character in the game.
Upon completing the tutorial in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect*, you'll receive your first Prototype Analyzer along with guidance on how to use it. To proceed, exit the Acer Program room via the passage to your right, and you'll find yourself in a room with a glowing platform. Interact with this platform to access the character selection menu, where you can choose the character you wish to unlock.
For subsequent characters, you'll need additional Prototype Analyzers. Return to the room with the glowing platform and interact with it again to unlock another character. Note that DLC characters, such as Rachel and Hazama (available as of March 2025), are exceptions and will be automatically unlocked upon purchasing and installing their respective character packs.
*Entropy Effect* offers several methods to acquire more Prototype Analyzers, each requiring time and effort.
As you advance through the game's story and complete training missions, you'll unlock gray skills. Reaching specific milestones will reward you with Prototype Analyzers:
Additionally, you'll automatically receive a Prototype Analyzer after completing a significant event later in the story. However, unlocking green skills via Potential does not grant Prototype Analyzers. Unless developer 91Act introduces more skills or alternative methods, you can only obtain three Prototype Analyzers through story progression.
Another method involves earning points through the Mind Challenge mode. You can then speak to the janitor to trade your Action Points (AP) for a Prototype Analyzer. Be prepared, though, as each Prototype Analyzer costs 5,000 AP, and this opportunity isn't frequent.
As of March 2025, *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* features 12 characters, with 10 available in the base game and 2 as paid DLC. Here's a detailed look at each character and how to unlock them using Prototype Analyzers:
Ragna is a melee fighter with a unique twist. He excels in close-range combat and gains power as his HP decreases. Ragna's special ability allows him to sacrifice health for buffs and then siphon some of it back from his opponents.
Jin is another melee fighter who specializes in elegant swordplay and ice-based skills. He can freeze enemies and, with precise timing, gain significant strength boosts and speed up his attacks, confusing his foes.
Noel stands out in ranged combat, capable of launching missiles in various directions. Her special ability reduces skill cooldown times, and she can continue casting skills even after her MP hits zero with Over-Exhaust.
Taokaka may struggle against heavily armored enemies, but her versatility in build options compensates for this. She can hit enemies multiple times and apply status effects with her Spinny Spinny attack, making her adaptable to various playstyles.
Hakumen embodies the tank archetype, slow but durable, with powerful attacks. He can counter incoming attacks at a reduced MP cost and even perform midair attacks, making him versatile against any enemy type.
Lambda-11 excels in both close and long-range combat. Her skills continue to damage enemies even when she's not actively attacking, making her a formidable force in any battle scenario.
Kokonoe is often considered one of the weaker characters due to the necessity of managing lasers and crowd control effects. However, with the right damage-over-time build, she can be highly effective.
Hibiki excels at evasion and controlling groups of enemies. While not the most powerful, his ability to avoid damage makes him a valuable asset.
Es is exceptionally powerful even without unlocking her full potential. She can counter after dodging, perform mid-air combos, and has crowd-control abilities, making her a versatile and strong character.
Mai has a high skill ceiling and can be challenging to master. Her effectiveness lies in stringing combos together for maximum damage and high mobility, making her a rewarding character to play once you understand her mechanics.
Rachel is overwhelmingly powerful. She's fast, can reset her dodge moves, and her abilities cover a wide area. One of her attacks is nearly impossible to evade and can stun enemies, making her a top choice for players.
Hazama requires strategic play due to his complex moveset. While he has a steep learning curve, mastering his skills can make him one of the game's strongest characters.
This covers all the characters in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* and how to unlock them. *BlazBlue Entropy Effect is available now on PC.*
