Dawn of War returns! Relic Entertainment has launched Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Definitive Edition, a refreshed take on the iconic real-time strategy game from over two decades ago. As a devoted fan of the 2004 classic, I dug deeper beyond the reveal trailer, below. Like a seasoned Inquisitor, I connected with design director Philippe Boulle to explore this thrilling grimdark comeback.

Boulle joined Relic in November 2005, starting with Dawn of War’s second expansion, Dark Crusade. He later contributed to Dawn of War: Soulstorm, Dawn of War 2, Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising, Space Marine, Company of Heroes 2, Dawn of War 3, and Age of Empires 4. With years at Relic and deep ties to Warhammer 40,000 games, he’s a veteran of the franchise.
