Warzone Players Encounter Persistent Lobby Crashes

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still underway, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

The Problem: Players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, leading to frustration and unwarranted penalties, including Skill Rating (SR) deductions and temporary match bans. This issue emerged despite a major game update earlier in January 2025.

Developer Response: Raven Software acknowledged the problem on January 6th and, by January 9th, implemented a temporary fix. This fix suspends SR penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining a Ranked match. Penalties remain in effect for players who disconnect mid-match.

Impact: This temporary measure alleviates the immediate impact of the bug, preventing unfair punishments for players unintentionally disconnected. However, the underlying issue persists, and players are still awaiting a complete resolution. The continued presence of bugs, even after recent updates, highlights ongoing challenges for the development team. The situation underscores the ongoing difficulties faced by Raven Software in maintaining a stable and bug-free experience for Warzone players.

The temporary fix provides some relief, but a permanent solution is still needed to address the root cause of the loading screen crashes. The ongoing struggle to eliminate bugs and maintain a smooth Ranked play experience remains a significant challenge for the Call of Duty: Warzone team.
