Wild Rift Patch 6.1 Goes Cosmic in Mid-April

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 18,2025

LoL: Wild Rift's Patch 6.1, dubbed "Ascending Stars," is slated for release later this month, promising a cosmic transformation across the game, from revamped menus to a thrilling new battlefield set in the Dual Nova galaxy. This update introduces players to the mystical realms of the Challenger’s Star and Adventure’s Star, each brimming with new challenges and rewards.

Adding to the excitement, three new champions are set to join the roster, each bringing unique abilities to the fray. Ryze, the Rune Mage, unleashes massive area-of-effect damage and can strategically teleport his teammates across the map with his signature Realm Warp ability. Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare, thrives in chaos, using Paranoia to shroud the battlefield in darkness, disorienting foes. Zilean, the Chronokeeper, manipulates time itself, slowing down adversaries and even bringing allies back to life with Chronoshift.

Alongside these new additions, several champions are receiving significant reworks. Garen's Courage ability now scales over time, enhancing his durability, while his Judgment ability will now effectively shred through enemy armor. Ambessa is transitioning from the jungle to the Baron lane with adjustments to her damage and life steal capabilities. Moreover, champions like Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista are also slated for minor updates, ensuring a balanced and dynamic meta.

LoL: Wild Rift Patch 6.1 PreviewIn addition to champion changes, the non-Ranked modes will see a fresh Bandle-inspired Rift, complete with Enchanted Gifts that appear through portals during the laning phase, adding a new layer of strategy and fun. Mages are in for a treat with new item updates, including the Bandle Fantasy item that adds extra burst damage. Hextech GLP800 slows enemies with frost bombs, and Malignance boosts ultimate abilities, making spellcasters even more formidable.

Ranked mode is also getting an overhaul with the start of a new season coinciding with the launch of the Challenger’s Star. Updates to the Ranked store and an easier way to earn seasonal rewards are among the improvements. Mid-patch, the Adventure’s Star unlocks, introducing AAAARAM, a thrilling new twist on the classic ARAM mode with added augments and stunning galactic visuals. The Wild Pass will feature two captivating new skins: Wondertown Twisted Fate, which introduces an entirely new skinline, and Battlecast Nasus.
