Insomniac Games Remains Tight-Lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date

Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but remained silent on the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While the studio confirmed ongoing work on several projects and a robust roadmap, Co-Head Chad Dezern stated in a Variety interview that details regarding Marvel's Wolverine's release remain under wraps. Despite fan excitement, Dezern emphasized the need to maintain secrecy, neither confirming nor denying a 2025 release.

Marvel's Wolverine, initially unveiled during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a cinematic trailer, is confirmed for PlayStation 5. A 2023 interview with Kinda Funny revealed from Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar that Wolverine shares the same universe ("1048") as Spider-Man, fueling speculation about potential crossovers. So far, the only confirmed crossover is a Wolverine-themed suit in Spider-Man 2. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some Wolverine development assets to the public.

Insomniac's Current Slate:

Insomniac announced at New York Comic-Con 2025 that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will launch on PC on January 30, 2025. The studio clarified that no additional story DLC is planned for Spider-Man 2, but the PC release will include all post-launch updates, including new suits, New Game+, and more. Two versions will be available: Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition.
