World of Warcraft has introduced a fresh set of in-game rewards for players who opt for a six-month subscription: the Timbered Sky Snake mount for modern WoW and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Classic. These rewards, inspired by the 2025 Zodiac Sign, are available to those who purchase or are currently on a six-month subscription, with the items being credited to accounts by January 31, 2025.

Since 2018, World of Warcraft has been rewarding players with exclusive in-game items for committing to longer subscription periods, typically refreshing these rewards in January and July. These items often reflect the lunar Zodiac signs of their respective years, such as the 2024 Auspicious Arborwyrm, themed around the Year of the Wood Dragon.

The latest announcement for 2025 brings the Timbered Sky Snake, a flying mount for retail WoW, symbolizing the Year of the Wood Snake, and the Timbered Air Snakelet, a companion pet for Cataclysm Classic. Players can acquire these by subscribing for six months or by purchasing them separately from the in-game store for $25 and $10, respectively. Additionally, the Timbered Sky Snakelet pet for modern WoW is available for $10 from the Battle.net shop, though it's not part of the subscription package.

Subscribers opting for a 12-month plan will also receive additional rewards, including the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts for modern WoW, and the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet for Classic. Plus, they'll automatically receive the July six-month subscription offer, making this an attractive option for collectors.

According to World of Warcraft's 2025 roadmap, retail WoW will see significant updates with patch 11.1 and might introduce player housing by year's end. Classic WoW will progress to Mists of Pandaria, new anniversary realms will cover vanilla through The Burning Crusade, and Season of Discovery will reach its final phase.
