YouTuber Charged with Kidnapping

Prominent YouTube content creator Corey Pritchett is currently facing serious allegations of two counts of aggravated kidnapping. The charges have sent shockwaves through his fanbase, especially after it was revealed that Pritchett had left the United States shortly after the allegations surfaced. His main channel, "CoreySSG," boasts around 4 million subscribers, while his second channel, "CoreySSG Live," has surpassed 1 million subscribers. One of his most popular videos, "LET’S HAVE A BABY PRANK," has amassed over 12 million views.

The allegations against Corey Pritchett stem from an incident that reportedly took place on November 24, 2024, in southwest Houston. According to reports from ABC13, two women, aged 19 and 20, met with Pritchett at a gym and spent the day engaging in activities such as ATV riding and bowling. However, what started as a seemingly fun outing quickly escalated into a terrifying ordeal. The women alleged that Pritchett threatened them at gunpoint, drove at high speeds on I-10, and confiscated their phones, claiming he planned to kill them. They further stated that Pritchett appeared anxious, believing someone was after him, and mentioned being accused of setting a car on fire.

After stopping his vehicle, Pritchett allegedly gave the women a chance to escape. They walked for over an hour until they found help and were able to contact the police. On December 26, 2024, Pritchett was charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping, but by then, he had already left the country. Authorities, in collaboration with the FBI, confirmed that Pritchett had flown to Doha, Qatar, on December 9 with a one-way ticket and is now believed to be in Dubai. From there, he uploaded a video mocking the warrants, jokingly referring to himself as being "on the run." This case adds to a growing list of incidents involving content creators facing serious charges, although it's unrelated to the situation of former YouTube streamer Johnny Somali, who is also facing potential jail time in South Korea.

The outcome of Corey Pritchett's case remains uncertain, and it is unclear whether he plans to return to the United States to face the charges. This situation echoes a similar incident in 2023, when renowned YouTuber YourFellowArab was kidnapped for ransom in Haiti. He was eventually released and later shared footage of his harrowing experience with a Haitian gang, providing his followers with a chilling insight into his ordeal.
