Yōtei Ghost PS5 Release Date Announced

The much-anticipated release date for Ghost of Yōtei has finally been unveiled, along with an exciting new trailer that delves into its captivating story and dynamic gameplay. Ghost of Yōtei New Trailer

PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced the release date for the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yōtei. On April 23, the game's new trailer, "The Onryō’s List," was released, providing fans with a glimpse into the game's narrative and showcasing some gameplay footage. The trailer culminates with the exciting reveal of the game's launch date: October 2, 2025.

Ghost of Yōtei follows the journey of Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), as she seeks vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six, a group of outlaws responsible for the death of her family and leaving her for dead. Her mission is to hunt down each member of the group: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

This standalone sequel is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Earlier this year, the developers shared insights into the game's new features, including an array of new weapons and mechanics, building on the foundation laid by its predecessor.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order they choose, allowing them to craft their unique path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed these features in a post on PlayStation.blog on April 23, providing more information about Atsu’s journey and the ways it will unfold.

The game introduces an evolved exploration system for the open world, offering more freedom and variety than Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the main quest of hunting the Yōtei Six, players can engage in various activities in the new region of Ezo. According to the blog post, "Atsu can also track other dangerous targets and claim bounties, or seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills."

As players explore, they'll encounter familiar activities from the previous game, including the beloved "Guiding Wind" feature. A new mechanic allows players to build campfires anywhere in the open world, enhancing the sense of freedom. The developers emphasize the importance of player choice in the vast land of Ezo and look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.

Pre-Orders, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition

Pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei will open next week, on May 2 at 10:00 AM ET. The standard edition will be priced at $69.99 and available at retail stores or through the PlayStation Store. Pre-ordering any edition comes with the following bonuses:

The Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $79.99, includes additional in-game bonuses such as an armor set, alternate dye, horse, and more.
