В квесте «Пепельный брак» в Ведьмаке 3, действие которого происходит в Новиграде, Геральт помогает Трисс Меригольд и ее жениху Кастелло в подготовке к свадьбе. В его задачи входит истребление монстров в каналах, добыча алкоголя и выбор свадебного подарка для Трисс.

Выбранный подарок существенно влияет на реакцию Трисс. Роза памяти, повторяющийся предмет из «Ведьмака 2», вызывает мощную эмоциональную реакцию, в то время как менее сентиментальные подарки воспринимаются более прохладно.

Однако разоблачение Дийкстрой связей Кастелло с охотниками на ведьм вносит путаницу в ход разбирательства. Выясняется, что Кастелло находится под принуждением, его шантажируют охотники, которые угрожают разоблачить его дочь от предыдущего брака.
