Maximize your word count to achieve victory! Squares is a daily word puzzle and strategy game where the objective is to complete squares on a grid to form words.
Gameplay: Connect letters in any direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally—to create words. The goal is to identify all words within the letter grid and accumulate the highest possible score.
Game Rules:
- Scoring: Earn one point for each letter in a word (e.g., a five-letter word earns five points).
- Word Length: Words must contain at least four letters.
- Letter Usage: Each tile can only be used once per word.
- Excluded Words: Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are not included in the main word list.
Bonus Words:
- Bonus Word List: Bonus words, encompassing obscure, archaic, or slang terms, don't contribute to your score but appear in a separate bonus word list. Continue searching for them even after finding all the main words.
- Word of the Day: Each puzzle features a "Word of the Day"—a special, often longer bonus word. Discovering it rewards you with two extra hints.
Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right using the buttons in the bottom-right corner for a fresh perspective. Changing your viewpoint may aid in discovering more words.
Letter Usage Hints: After finding 40% of the words, a hint is provided: a number appears on each letter, indicating how many words begin with that letter. The absence of a number signifies no words start with that letter. An orange letter indicates it's no longer used in the main words but might still be part of bonus words.
Hints: Each puzzle offers 3 to 5 hints (lightbulb icons). Using a hint reveals the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints depends on the puzzle's difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends grants one additional hint.
