Russian Checkers 8×8

In Russian Checkers, white initiates the game, and all pieces move on dark squares. Capturing an opponent's piece is mandatory when possible, and you can capture both forward and backward. The king, once promoted, can move and capture diagonally in any direction. The Turkish strike rule applies, meaning in one move, an opponent's piece can be captured only once. If multiple capture options are available, any can be chosen. Upon reaching the opponent's edge, a piece is crowned a king and can immediately play as one if the opportunity arises.

Draw Conditions in Russian Checkers:

• If a player has checkers and three or more kings against an opponent's single king and fails to capture it by the 15th move after the forces stabilize.
• If both players have kings and the position remains unchanged for 30 moves in 4 and 5 piece endings, or 60 moves in 6 and 7 piece endings.
• If a player with three pieces (any combination of kings and checkers) against an opponent's single king on the "high road" fails to capture by the 5th move.
• If only kings are moved for 15 consecutive moves without any captures or promotions.
• If the same board position repeats three or more times with the same player to move each time.

International Checkers 10×10

International Checkers also starts with white moving first on dark squares, with mandatory captures in both directions. The king moves freely along diagonals. The Turkish strike rule applies, but the majority rule mandates capturing the largest number of pieces if multiple options exist. A piece reaching the opponent's edge during a capture continues moving as a regular piece, only turning into a king upon reaching the edge by a regular move or at the end of a capture sequence, and then waits until its next turn to act as a king.
