Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Ubisoft Unveils 2025 Content Roadmap

Ubisoft has shared its vision for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising additions like new game+, expanded difficulty options, fresh story content, and more.

In a concise four-and-a-half-minute video released today, Ubisoft outlined its 2025 plans for the stealth-action title. The roadmap highlights key updates for May and June, detailing how the team aims to keep players engaged with regular free content drops throughout the year.

The rollout starts with The Works of Luis Frois, the first free story expansion, set to launch in early May alongside a Codex update and quality-of-life enhancements. Next month, expect significant parkour improvements and a photo mode update, reflecting Ubisoft’s ongoing commitment to incorporating community feedback into future updates for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

“Your input has shaped our work throughout development, and that continues post-launch,” said community developer Daniel St. Germain in today’s video. “Regular updates will bring meaningful changes, new features, and bug fixes to enhance the experience across all platforms.”

In June, players can look forward to another free story chapter, tougher difficulty settings, deeper gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear in cutscenes. Additional features, including new game+ support, more story content, special collaborations, and other surprises, are planned before year’s end.

The highlight of the post-launch schedule is the Claws of Awaji DLC, a major expansion arriving later in 2025. This 10-hour adventure introduces the Bo staff weapon and a new region for Naoe and Yasuke to explore. Pricing remains undisclosed, but it’s free for those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched on March 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, bringing Ubisoft’s iconic stealth series to Feudal Japan. Its bold execution earned it a spot among our top games of 2025 so far and the title of last month’s best-selling game.
