Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Developers Eyeing Switch 2 Port

Says It "Could Be Interesting"

Following the stellar success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Sandfall Interactive is considering a port to the upcoming Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's plans post-launch, expressing that the game's achievements have opened up new possibilities.

Broche noted, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything." This success has led the team to explore various new opportunities, including a potential release on the Switch 2.

When questioned about the feasibility of a Switch 2 release, Broche indicated that while it's too early to confirm, the idea is certainly appealing. He elaborated, "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting."

Given the excitement surrounding the upcoming Switch 2, it's only fitting that a top-rated game like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might find its way onto this eagerly anticipated handheld console. Fans will need to stay tuned to see if they can eventually enjoy this Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's latest device.

No Official Merchandise…Yet!

Amidst the flurry of opportunities, Sandfall Interactive has also been approached about creating official merchandise, particularly an Esquie plush. However, the studio has yet to release any official merchandise for the game. They have warned fans about the presence of fake merchandise circulating online, specifically Esquie plushies being sold on unauthorized websites. In a May 14 Twitter (X) post, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."

The studio also highlighted that many of these counterfeit items feature AI-generated artwork, which they strongly advise against purchasing due to potential scams. Nevertheless, Sandfall Interactive is actively working on producing official Esquie plushies.

In their tweet, they added, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"

The enthusiasm for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to grow, and with Sandfall's recent announcements, fans can look forward to official merchandise.
