Heroes of the Storm: Brawl Mode Returns!

Heroes of the Storm is bringing back its popular Heroes Brawl mode, rebranded as Brawl Mode, introducing unique challenges on a rotating selection of previously unavailable maps. This marks the return of these maps after a nearly five-year hiatus. The mode is currently available on the Public Test Realm (PTR) and will officially launch with the next patch, approximately one month from now.

The original Heroes Brawl, initially launched as Arena Mode in 2016, offered weekly rotating challenges with diverse map layouts, objectives, and rule sets. These ranged from all-Nova sniper duels to action-packed Arena variations of existing battlefields, and even the PvE mission, Escape from Braxis. However, due to the rising popularity of single-lane maps and the maintenance challenges involved, it was replaced by ARAM in 2020.

Brawl Mode, as it's now known, will feature a bi-weekly rotation, updating on the 1st and 15th of each month. Playing three matches during a Brawl's active period will reward players with a special chest. The specifics of earning this reward (once per Brawl or weekly) haven't yet been confirmed. With over two dozen past Brawls, players can expect many favorites to return, and potentially some exciting new additions.

The PTR currently features Snow Brawl, a holiday-themed Brawl, for testing. Given the PTR's three-week duration (as indicated in-game), the official launch of Brawl Mode is likely slated for early February. This return coincides nicely with Heroes of the Storm's 10th anniversary on June 2nd, 2025.
