In *Genshin Impact*, Bennett has long been celebrated as one of the game's most versatile and valuable characters. Available since the game's inception, he continues to be a staple in numerous team compositions. With the introduction of Iansan in *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, launching on March 26, players are buzzing about whether she could serve as a new "Bennett replacement." Let's delve into the details to see how Iansan stacks up against Bennett.
Iansan, a 4-Star Electro Polearm character from Natlan, primarily functions as a support character, offering both damage buffs and healing. Her Elemental Burst, "The Three Principles of Power," mirrors Bennett's role in enhancing team performance. However, while Bennett's buffs require characters to stay within a designated field, Iansan takes a different approach. She summons a Kinetic Energy Scale that follows the active character, boosting ATK based on her Nightsoul Points.
The effectiveness of Iansan's ATK bonus depends on her Nightsoul Points. If she has fewer than 42 out of a maximum of 54, the bonus scales with both her Nightsoul Points and ATK. With 42 or more Nightsoul Points, the bonus increases and scales solely with her ATK, suggesting that building her with ATK in mind is crucial.
A unique aspect of Iansan's scale is that it requires the active character to move, logging the distance traveled and restoring Nightsoul Points to Iansan based on that distance. This dynamic mechanic encourages players to keep moving during battles.
In terms of healing, Bennett outshines Iansan significantly. Bennett can heal up to 70% of the active character's HP within his field, while Iansan's healing capabilities are less potent, and she cannot heal herself. Additionally, Bennett at C6 can infuse Pyro into the active character's Normal Attacks, a feature Iansan lacks with Electro infusion.
For exploration, Iansan offers unique advantages. She can use Nightsoul Points to sprint and jump longer distances without consuming stamina, providing a different approach to navigating the game world. However, for teams focused on Pyro, Bennett's Elemental Resonance provides a +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion, making him the preferred choice.
Iansan can be seen as a counterpart to Bennett, sharing similarities in appearance and function. Rather than replacing him, she offers a compelling alternative, especially for secondary team compositions in the Spiral Abyss that require a similar support role.
One of Iansan's key advantages is the freedom of movement her Kinetic Scale provides. Unlike the stationary field required by Bennett's Burst, Iansan's buffs encourage active movement, introducing a fresh gameplay dynamic.
Players interested in trying out Iansan can do so during Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, available starting March 26.
