People Can Fly, the Polish studio renowned for Outriders and Gears of War Judgment, has announced further job cuts as it cancels two projects: Project Gemini and Project Bifrost.

"Today, we made the tough choice to pause development on Project Gemini and Project Bifrost, with relevant updates shared with the market," CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski stated in a press release.

"The pause on Project Gemini stems from the publisher’s failure to provide a revised content plan for the Publishing Agreement, outlining future milestones, coupled with a lack of clarity on their commitment to continue or end the project.

"Project Bifrost was halted due to the same issues, alongside a financial review revealing insufficient resources and funding to sustain production and launch."

The CEO added: "As a result, we must restructure the studio and reduce our workforce, which is deeply painful. We sincerely regret how this has unfolded and are immensely grateful for everyone’s efforts thus far."

While Wojciechowski’s statement does not name the publisher involved, People Can Fly’s website confirms Project Gemini was in collaboration with Square Enix, while Project Bifrost was self-published. Square Enix has not yet responded.

The studio previously "downsized" when it laid off 120 employees late last year. It continues to collaborate with Krafton and Sony on Project Echo and Delta, respectively, and with Microsoft on Gears of War: E-Day.

People Can Fly’s latest release is Bulletstorm VR, an enhanced version of the iconic shooter for Meta Quest and PSVR 2.
