Devs clarified that viewers are seeing "raw gameplay footage from an unfinished pre-beta build." They emphasized the game remains under development with potential adjustments coming. All captured gameplay originated from PC environments.
Lead Designer Daniel Sadowski introduced this narrative-driven dark fantasy RPG set across medieval European landscapes. During the showcase focusing on gameplay systems, protagonist Coen embarks on a mid-game mission hunting legendary weapons concealed beneath an ancient cathedral.

Sadowski stressed their commitment to delivering authentic sword combat mastery. En route to the cathedral, Coen encounters highway brigands - presenting the perfect opportunity to demonstrate foundational combat mechanics and character abilities.
"We wanted players to embody a seasoned warrior who carefully analyzes opponents," Sadowski explained. Strategic attack angles significantly influence combat effectiveness for both player and foes. Successful attacks and defenses accumulate activation charges redeemable for special abilities.
These powerful skills trade health for devastating effects, with brief combat pauses allowing tactical selection. Showcased abilities included Burning Blood (damage-over-time), Acrid Dust (temporary stun), and the gruesome instant-kill Artery Attack decapitation.

Sadowski reiterated Dawnwalker's emphasis on player freedom within narrative structures. "Every quest features multiple resolution paths," he stated. "We've designed a narrative sandbox maximizing player agency."
However, daylight hours restrict Coen to human limitations. Certain areas become accessible only during nocturnal vampire form - introducing strategic considerations for questing. Human Coen blends seamlessly while vampire Coen unlocks vertical mobility and enhanced abilities.
Vampiric gameplay introduces dangerous hunger mechanics - overfeeding risks losing control. Players can choose restraint (knocking victims unconscious), lethal feeding, or hunting animals to sustain themselves.

The game implements a 30-day narrative framework for stopping antagonist Brencis, though Sadowski clarifies time operates strategically rather than punitively. Players can assault Brencis immediately or strengthen progressively through exploration.
Alternate paths constantly present themselves - abandoned objectives may reveal superior solutions. The demonstration concluded with Xanthe, Brencis' lieutenant, showcasing diverse boss mechanics. Players can investigate enemy motivations for potential alternatives to combat.
