Adding to this list, the original Devil May Cry (DMC) could also see a revival, as its director, Hideki Kamiya, has voiced his interest in a remake.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel dated May 8, Kamiya engaged with fans, answering questions about remakes and sequels. When posed with the idea of remaking DMC, he enthusiastically responded, "A remake like that, well, I would like to do that."

First Released 2001

Originally launched in 2001, Devil May Cry was initially conceived as Resident Evil 4. However, a significant shift in its core concepts led Capcom to develop DMC as a distinct entity.

Reflecting on its creation nearly 25 years later, Kamiya revealed a deeply personal origin story for the game. In 2000, after a painful breakup, he channeled his emotions into the creation of DMC, transforming his heartache into a groundbreaking action game.

Kamiya admits he never replays his games post-release, including DMC. Yet, when he occasionally encounters gameplay clips, he recognizes the game's age and its outdated design. Should he undertake a remake, Kamiya's approach would be to reconstruct DMC entirely, leveraging modern technology and contemporary game design principles.

Currently, he isn't dwelling on the idea much, as his creative process kicks in only when a project is actively in development. However, if the opportunity arises, he confidently asserts, "But if the time comes— I’ll come up with something. That’s what I do."

In addition to DMC, Kamiya has shown interest in remaking Viewtiful Joe. With these insights, fans of Kamiya's work are eagerly anticipating the potential return of these cherished titles through a modern lens.
