Author:Kristen Update:May 20,2025

Capcom has released Monster Hunter Wilds hotfix 1.000.05.00 across all platforms, implementing crucial improvements and fixes to enhance the gaming experience. This update focuses on resolving various progression blockers and addressing numerous bugs, although it does not include performance enhancements as detailed in the patch notes.

Despite its record-breaking launch, Monster Hunter Wilds continues to receive a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, primarily due to performance issues on PC. Nevertheless, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies within just three days, making it the fastest-selling Capcom game to date. It also achieved the fifth highest concurrent player count on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608 players, surpassing games like Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. In comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684 players.

A title update for Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled for early April, will introduce a new endgame area for gathering and more monster hunting content for players to explore.

To aid in your Monster Hunter Wilds journey, we've compiled essential resources such as what the game doesn't explicitly tell you, a comprehensive guide to all 14 weapon types, an ongoing walkthrough, a multiplayer guide to play with friends, and instructions on transferring your beta character.

IGN's review of Monster Hunter Wilds awarded it an 8/10, commending the game for refining the series' mechanics and delivering enjoyable combat, while noting a lack of significant challenge.
