El revisor digital de Foundry, Thomas Morgan, realizó una evaluación exhaustiva de Bloodborne en el emulador SHADPS4, centrándose en el rendimiento del juego y las mejoras técnicas aportadas por los modders. Para sus pruebas, Morgan utilizó la construcción de Shadps4 0.5.1 por Diegolix29, que se basa en una rama personalizada desarrollada por Raphaelthegeat. Esta construcción específica ofreció el mejor rendimiento en una PC equipada con un procesador AMD Ryzen 7 5700X y una GPU GeForce RTX 4080.

Morgan sugirió la instalación del Mod de corrección de explosión de vértices para abordar los problemas visuales que se manifestaron como polígonos estirados o fuera de lugar. Aunque este MOD desactiva la personalización facial al comienzo del juego, elimina efectivamente estos problemas visuales. En particular, no se necesitan otras modificaciones esenciales, ya que el emulador en sí incluye un menú integral para la gestión de mejoras. Este menú permite a los usuarios habilitar el soporte de 60 FPS, excluir la resolución a 4K y deshabilitar la aberración cromática, entre otras opciones.

A pesar de las tartamudeo ocasional, Morgan informó que Bloodborne generalmente mantenía un suave FPS de 60. También experimentó con resoluciones más altas, específicamente 1440p y 1800p, donde observó una mejora significativa en los detalles de la imagen.
