Developers Vow to Enhance Content Review Procedures

Disturbing Vehicle Interaction Removed From inZOI

During the ongoing Early Access period, players discovered an alarming feature where child characters could be struck by vehicles with exaggerated physics reactions. A March 28th Reddit post titled "Unexpected Vehicle Mechanics in inZOI" showcased footage with concerning ragdoll effects following such collisions.

While developers had mentioned vehicle-related fatalities for adult characters during the inZOI Online Showcase, interactions with child characters were never intended. A Krafton representative clarified to Eurogamer on March 28th that this was an unintended issue immediately addressed in the latest update.

"These interactions were completely unintended and contradict inZOI's design values," the statement explained. "We take content appropriateness seriously and are implementing stricter review protocols to prevent similar oversights." This adjustment appropriately maintains the game's T for Teen ESRB rating.

Despite receiving "Very Positive" Steam reviews praising its visual quality, Game Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim acknowledged limitations of their realistic approach in a March 31st PCGamesN interview. "The photorealistic style sometimes conflicts with implementing humorous elements," Kim noted. "We occasionally wanted to include lighter moments, but they felt tonally inconsistent with our visual direction."

While expressing admiration for The Sims 4's charming absurdity, Kim believes inZOI's immersive realism offers unique appeal: "This visual fidelity creates unmatched immersion that excites both our team and players." As development continues, the team remains focused on refining inZOI's identity within the life-simulation genre.
